FAQ

The questions we answer at the counter every day

Every rate starts at the Bank of Israel representative rate, which we fetch automatically through the day. Our buy and sell prices are that rate plus our margin, and the board shows both so you can see the difference for yourself.

Yes. Reserve online and we hold that rate for 30 minutes. Bring cash and your ID to the counter within that window and you get the rate you were quoted, whatever the market did in between.

No. The board and the calculator are open to everyone, with no sign-up and no email address. An account is only needed to reserve a rate.

We order it in. A special order takes a 20% deposit and usually arrives within a couple of business days. We call you when it is at the counter.

Most, but not all. Each currency page lists the denominations we take and the ones we cannot — worn, torn and withdrawn notes are the usual exceptions. It is worth checking before you travel.

Israeli law requires us to identify customers above a legal threshold. A member of our staff reads the document, not a machine, and we tell you either way. An unclear photo gets a second chance rather than a refusal.

Only a minimum transaction fee on very small exchanges, and the calculator shows it before you commit. There is nothing else added at the counter.
